BOSE 551 AM/FM Stereo Spatial Control Receiver with 901 EQ for sale in Lafayette, LA

1 of 1
Offered here is a vintage bose stereo spatial control receiver. Dates to 1978. Model #551 108787 features real wood cabinet in great shape. Designed to work with a pair of Bose 901 speakers with a built in equalizer produced amazing sound in the room with direct reflecting technology. It also has the option to be hooked up to regular speakers or both. This unit was connected to a pair of 901s in the house it came from but they were mounted to the vaulted ceiling and the owner would not take them down. I've had it hooked up to a pair of Bose 301 speakers which sound good. Includes original owners manuals. It turns on and off by pressing two adjacent letters on the front BOSE logo. There is also a master power switch on the back. Power output 100 watts per channel. Frequency response 20 - 20 kHz Signal to noise ratio 90- db Condition: Currently working but will need some service. Purchased from a local estate. It worked at the house then brought it home it would not turn on. I took it to local shop and they said the power switch solenoid will need service. He got it working and it is working now but the vibration in shipping to buyer may cause it to stop again. Once it sits a while it works again. The signal strength light bulb needs to be replaced. The pots on the balance control need cleaning. The wood cabinet is nice shape with only minor issues. One is on the top vent grill, one of the grill bars has a crack but is not separated so it is not noticeable. The other is small dings to the silver metal trim on the sides. Otherwise very little wear to cabinet. Dimensions: 20.5" W x 16.5" D x 6.5" H Weight: 36 lbs. Shipping: UPS ground to your door. Professional packing. Please email for exact quote. Local pickup in the Lafayette, LA area.
