We are looking for a Quality Tool Inspector to join our team in Lafayette, LA.
SUMMARY
Assure that products sent to our customers are in conformance to requirements by performing inspection duties that include, but are not limited to: dimensional verification of components and assemblies, verification of quality documentation, witness of product testing, visual examination of product, technical assistance to outside suppliers, engineering and operations, and working with customer inspectors. This position has the potential of working a 2nd shift schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs Receiving, In-process, and Final inspections of new and rental product
Perform dimensional inspection of machined components with tolerances of .005 or tighter
Performs functional tests on piece parts
Performs inspection of assemblies
Perform Visual Inspection of components and assemblies in accordance with applicable documents
Works with Customer inspectors in the examination of product.
Perform simple calibrations and maintain records for various tools, instruments, and gauges used in the manufacturing and inspection processes
Assist Engineering and Operations in the investigation of product failures
Assist outside suppliers with problems related to subcontracted parts
Assist in the training of other personnel as required
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of work experience with Quality Systems; related to raw material inspection, end processes, finished goods, and material test reports within a manufacturing industry is required
Familiarity and knowledge in the use of, the typical measuring tools used for mechanical inspection such as; dial calipers, micrometers, hardness testers, optical contour projector, hard gauges and Gage maker Mic-Trac system is required
Knowledge of computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, including programming used for Quality Control and Inspection activities required
Must have a working knowledge of high school mathematics including algebra and trigonometry
Experience working within tool manufacturing for the oilfield industry is preferred
Good communication skills including written and verbal is required
Must have the ability to work both 1st and 2nd shift schedule
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required
