Administrative Assistant - Engineering Department

Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures and may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, stenography, office machine operation and filing.
1. Provide general administrative and clerical support
2. Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages
3. Compile, copy, sort and file records of office activities
4. Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers
5. Compute, record and proofread data and other information such as records and/or reports
6. Distribute departmental incoming and outgoing mail
7. Maintain departmental supply room and cabinet
8. Maintain daily departmental staff accountability
9. Receive and relay messages
10. Performing additional related duties as requested or required
1. High school diploma or GED preferred
2. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
3. Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
4. Able to handle stress in a hectic, active environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
