This position is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with external organizations, overseeing the externship placement process, and ensuring that students gain valuable experiences that align with their educational and career goals.
The Director of Externships works closely with clinical coordinators, campus management, Unitech management, faculty, and external partners to facilitate successful externship programs.
Job Description:
1.
Externship Program Development:
Develop and enhance the externship program, including the creation of program policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ensure that the program aligns with industry standards, credentialing requirements, and educational objectives.

Partnership Development:
Establish and maintain relationships with professional external organizations.
Collaborate with industry partners to create opportunities for student externships.
3.
Externship Placement:
Oversee the externship placement process, working with clinical coordinators and faculty to match students with appropriate externship sites.
Ensure that placement decisions consider students' educational and career goals.
4.
Orientation and Training:
Provide orientation and training to clinical coordinators, faculty, and externship site supervisors to prepare them for the externship experience.
Offer guidance on professional conduct and expectations.
5.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Monitor the progress and experiences of students during their externships.
Collect feedback from students, clinical coordinators, faculty, and externship site supervisors to assess the quality of the externship program.
6.
Problem Resolution:
Prepare clinical coordinators to act as a liaison between students, faculty, and externship site supervisors to address any issues or concerns that arise during the externship.
When necessary, personally resolve challenges to ensure a successful externship experience.

Compliance and Accreditation:
Ensure that the externship program meets regulatory and accreditation standards.
Collaborate with the education team and compliance department to maintain compliance.
8.
Data Collection and Reporting:
Collect data on externship program outcomes, student performance, and site evaluations.
Prepare reports and analyze data to inform program improvements.
9.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with faculty, the education department, and external partners to align the externship program with educational objectives.
Foster effective communication and collaboration with the career services department and other stakeholders.
Qualifications A Bachelor's or higher degree (or other relevant work experience) Proven experience in externship program management or a related role, preferably in higher education or vocational training.
Strong understanding of industry standards and requirements in relevant fields.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain partnerships.
Data-driven decision-making skills and proficiency in data analysis.
A commitment to educational quality and the development of real-world skills in students.
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
