Coastal Engineer - Baton Rouge, LA

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
o Strong quantitative skillsets to support coastal/waterfront projects, including coastal structures and beach nourishment o Independently conduct engineering analyses and apply coastal engineering tools for the design and formulation of resilient coastal protection projects o Contribute to project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed final designs o Prepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documents o Participate in business development activities and write proposals o Coordinate work with other coastal engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staff o Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observations o Interpret contract documents and perform contract administration o Manage individual tasks and small projects while also working collaboratively as part of a team for larger or multi-disciplinary projects o Independently manage multiple project schedules and deliverables o Professionally communicate with clientsBasic Qualifications Required:
o Coastal engineering experience (5 years minimum) required with focus in coastal and marine structures o Bachelor's degree in civil or Coastal Engineering required Professional Engineer (P.
E.
) license or the ability to be licensed within 90 days of hire o Demonstrated ability to work with diverse data sets (preferred candidate will have some experience in any of the following:
CAD, GIS, Matlab coding) o Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects o Demonstrated environmental permitting experience in any state o Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment o Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English o Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects o Demonstrated environmental permitting experience in any state o Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment o Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English o Experience with preparation of proposals, selection presentations and business development o Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities.
Basic Qualifications Preferred:
o Working knowledge of coastal numerical modeling software o Civil engineering skills such as geotechnical and foundation designs, paving and drainage design capabilities o Have a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on several types of projects Recommended Skills Analytical Business Development Cad Civil Engineering Construction Consulting Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
