Responsibilities:
Works collection notes.
Posts and bills all attorneys.
Receive faxes and distribute them to correct recipient.
Mail out receipts.
Does all the NSF checks to the DAs office about the patients.
Checks to make sure nobody has a balance.
Pink notes on all incoming appointments.
If they have a balance, collects it.
Does all the Chapter 13 accounts - All Bankruptcy Accounts.
Works PPA letters to attorneys Send out statements to attorneys on past due accounts.
Explain EOBs to patients.
Answer questions regarding statements received.
Process incoming check/cc payment via mail & phone.
Document payments from collection agency.
Document checks received into correct patient account from attorney and patient.
Give private pay/MSA/atty or fax quotes.
Locate HIPAA, LDR/LDG, and give it to the front desk.
Billing customer service/phone/in office.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical terminology and organizational services.
Knowledge of individual responsibilities to accurately direct callers.
Skills:
Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging.
Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients.
Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients.
Abilities:
Elicits appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person.
Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls.
